Our Approach to Treatment
At Balance Acupuncture Brisbane, treatment begins with understanding the whole picture.
While people often seek acupuncture for a specific concern, symptoms rarely exist in isolation. Pain can affect sleep. Stress can affect digestion. Hormonal changes can influence energy, mood, and recovery. Looking at how these patterns connect is an important part of treatment.
Over more than 35 years in healthcare as a registered nurse, midwife, and acupuncturist, Louise has seen that lasting improvement often comes from understanding not only what symptoms are present, but why they continue to occur.
Rather than applying the same treatment to everyone with the same condition, each session is guided by how symptoms are presenting, how they have developed over time, and how the body responds to treatment.
Traditional acupuncture provides a framework for identifying patterns and relationships within the body. Clinical experience helps guide how that information is applied in practice.

Everybody Is Unique
Treatment may be used to support pain conditions, stress and anxiety, sleep disturbances, women’s health concerns, and a range of other presentations. Regardless of the condition, the focus remains the same: understanding what is contributing to the issue and supporting the body’s ability to move towards better function and balance.
Many people come to the clinic after trying other approaches that have only partially resolved their symptoms. For this reason, treatment is approached with curiosity, patience, and an understanding that long-standing concerns often require a more considered approach.
The goal is not simply to treat symptoms for the short term, but to support meaningful and sustainable improvement wherever possible.
